Pres. Obama Live Tweets

Yesterday, President Obama became the first President to live tweet. During the first ever Twitter Townhall held on July 6th, 2011, Pres. Obama answered questions sent via Twitter regarding issues of jobs, economy, housing, education, and many more.

It’s an interesting advancement in terms of both technology and connecting with U.S. citizens. Over 60,000 questions were submitted with the hashtag, #AskObama, and questions were selected based on topic and popularity to be posed to the President. By using the internet, people from all over the country were able to contribute to the discussion.

On the topic of education, Pres. Obama explained the role of colleges and universities in keeping their costs down, thereby keeping tuition prices down as well. He also stated the importance of training our children in Math, Science, and Technology in order to be successful in the future.
