On our YouTube channel, we’ve shared videos on topics such as using the Big Ideas Math website, creating tests with ExamView, and implementing the Standards for Mathematical Practice in your classroom.
Today, I want to highlight a video prepared by Lisa Goldsmith on assembling the materials for student math tubs.
The tubs are an easy and convenient way for students to access the materials they need while participating in activities and lessons. Each tub is suitable for a group of four students.
In the video, Lisa recommends including the following math tub materials and manipulatives:
- 2 pairs of scissors
- 4 pencils
- 4 die
- 1 pack of sticky notes
- 2 protractors
- 4 colored pencils
- 2 measuring tapes
- 4 chips of different colors
- Paper clips
- 4 markers of different colors
- 4 pennies
- Small Stapler
- 2-4 six inch rulers
Download the list: Math Tubs: Materials and Manipulatives (PDF)
On the download, there are three columns, each containing a complete list. Print, cut apart each list, and attach a list to the outside of each tub as seen in the video.
